An extensive alteration and addition onto a beautiful heritage residence.

 

The additions were designed in a sensitive yet obviously contemporary way, not in competition with the historical architectural elements, but rather to live harmoniously with it. The scale of the new L-shaped wing is modest and natural textural materials were used creating a calm, contemporary yet still homely feel to the space.

Lift installation
​

This was a small addition to another heritage residential dwelling. 

 

A platform lift was added to be a sensitive yet comtemporary addition to the house. Warm red brick was used as this is a decorative element used in the existing historical architecture of the dwelling. the brick was laid in the same bond as existing. In contrast to the textural red brick, glass and charcoal aluminium compliments to create an interesting and harmonious addition.
